Jangsu County has issued a public apology following a booking controversy involving Taeyeon of Girls' Generation and trot singer Kim Taeyeon ahead of the upcoming '2025 Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival.'
On July 18, the county posted an official statement on Instagram, revealing that its festival operating agency, JTV, had initially considered inviting Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon to perform at the opening celebration. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, her appearance was not finalized.
Afterward, JTV proceeded to book trot singer Kim Taeyeon. The issue occurred when this change was not properly communicated to the official organizer, Jangsu County, which resulted in public confusion. A festival poster featuring Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation as part of the lineup had already been circulated online.

Jangsu County addressed the incident, stating, "We sincerely apologize to Taeyeon, Kim Taeyeon, their fans, and our local residents for the confusion caused by the lack of communication and the agency’s poor handling of the matter."
The operating agency has since delivered a formal apology to both artists. Representatives from the artists’ sides expressed that they hoped the issue would not escalate further.
The agency also added, "We will take this opportunity to review our procedures and ensure a more careful and successful festival planning process in the future."
Previously, SM Entertainment, the management company of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, denied ever receiving a booking request. This denial came after promotional materials had already listed her as a performer, fueling further controversy. It was later clarified that trot singer Kim Taeyeon had been officially booked.
The '2025 Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival' is scheduled to take place from September 18 to 21 at Uiam Park and Jangsu Nuri Park.
