[CW: Includes spoiler about Episode 14]

JTBC’s weekend drama 'Good Boy' is nearing its end, with only two episodes left until the finale. The series has captivated viewers with a shocking development hinting at the protagonist Park Bo Gum’s potential loss of vision.

Episode 14, which aired on July 13, recorded nationwide ratings of 6.6% and 6.9% in the Seoul metropolitan area, according to Nielsen Korea, once again breaking its own record.

In this episode, the previously disbanded Violent Special Task Force reunited for a final showdown with the ultimate villain, Min Joo Young (played by Oh Jung Se). The team launched a surprise attack on the cartel’s headquarters at Geummun Central City, engaging in a life-or-death battle.

Meanwhile, Ji Han Na (played by Kim So Hyun) uncovered the truth about her father Ji Ho Chul’s (Kim Young Sung) death, pushing the drama’s tension to its peak. Through a digital camera left behind by Leo (Ko Jun), she discovered that the true culprit behind her father’s murder was Min Joo Young. He had killed smuggler Oh Bong Chan (Song Young Chang) and staged the incident as a clash with the Russian mafia, which is Leo’s father’s organization. Ji Ho Chul, who had been investigating the case, was then murdered by Min Joo Young.

Min Joo Young had deceived Leo by claiming Ji Ho Chul was a corrupt cop protecting Oh Bong Chan, manipulating Leo’s desire for revenge. However, it was later revealed that Ji Ho Chul had actually saved Leo as a child, leading Leo to hesitate. Ultimately, Min Joo Young personally eliminated Ji Ho Chul. Sensing danger, Ji Ho Chul had set the digital camera, which was meant as a gift for his daughter, to record in advance, allowing Ji Han Na to finally identify the true killer.

With Yoon Dong Joo (Park Bo Gum) regaining consciousness and rejoining the team, the task force was once again complete. Despite being outnumbered, the members used their combat skills to overpower Min Joo Young’s men. However, Min Joo Young managed to break through the siege and escape.

Tension mounted as police riot units and reporters, tracking Yoon Dong Joo, swarmed Geummun Central City. During this chaos, Ji Han Na realized that their location had been exposed following a phone call Min Joo Young had received, leading her to suspect a rat within the police department. Analysis of a discarded burner phone revealed the last call had been with Han Sang Bin (Lee Jong Hoon), the youngest detective on the regional investigation team. However, later that night, he was found dead.

The task force determined that Min Joo Young was unlikely to give up his new drug operation involving “Candy” and began tracking the illegal transport vehicles operated by Jung Man Shik’s (Oh Jong Goo) contractor company. With no leads, Yoon Dong Joo recalled an important detail: Police Commissioner Kim Eung Soo (Jo Pan Yeol) had deployed over 500 officers to apprehend Min Joo Young and was even staying overnight at the police headquarters. Yoon Dong Joo guessed that, given Min Joo Young’s cowardly nature, he might be hiding in what he considered the safest place—the commissioner’s office.

Yoon Dong Joo’s surprise attack pushed Min Joo Young into a corner, prompting him to take the commissioner hostage and attempt to flee. Ji Han Na fired a blank round to stop him, but Min Joo Young used the confusion to escape to the underground parking lot. Just as Yoon Dong Joo chased after him, Jung Man Shik appeared and blocked his path.

Jung Man Shik was well aware of Yoon Dong Joo’s vulnerability due to punch-drunk syndrome. He struck Yoon Dong Joo directly at the temple, causing him to lose vision and stagger. Although Yoon Dong Joo refused to give up and instinctively threw punches, his sight continued to fade, and his attacks missed their mark.

After regaining consciousness, Yoon Dong Joo suffered severe aftereffects. He vomited nightly and frequently stumbled due to weakened legs. His brain damage from boxing had rapidly worsened. He had already been warned by his doctor about the risk of cerebral hemorrhage and possible blindness.

With only two episodes remaining, viewers are increasingly eager to find out what fate awaits Yoon Dong Joo, now facing the possibility of going blind.

'Good Boy' continues to break its own viewership records each week with tightly woven plots and constant twists that keep audiences hooked. In the latest episode, major character backstories were fully revealed, setting the stage for the final showdown.

The final episodes of 'Good Boywill air this Saturday at 10:40 PM and Sunday at 10:30 PM KST on JTBC. The show is also available on OTT platforms including TVING, Netflix, Coupang Play, Wavve, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video.
