On July 29, MODEN BERRY KOREA announced that Somyi, a former member of the girl group DIA, will make her official solo debut this fall with the release of a new single.
This marks Somyi’s first solo activity in approximately eight years since debuting with DIA.
The upcoming track features the participation of Kim Min Sol, known for her appearance on Mnet’s survival show 'I-LAND2: FIN/αL COUNTDOWN,' who contributed both as a lyricist and producer adding to the musical depth of the release. Kim Min Sol, a former WAKEONE trainee, gained attention during 'I-LAND2' for her performance of “EYES, NOSE, LIPS” with Yoon Ji Yoon, which was praised by the original artist Taeyang.
Somyi joined DIA in 2017, beginning her journey with the group’s second studio album 'YOLO.' She parted ways with the group in 2022 due to health concerns and later pursued a career as a broadcast jockey (BJ).
Somyi is currently in the final stages of preparation for her solo release, which will be unveiled in accordance with upcoming promotional schedules.
