Veteran actress Lee Young Ae is set to return to the small screen with KBS2’s upcoming weekend mini-series 'Walking On Thin Ice.' The network unveiled photos from the first script reading session on July 22, generating excitement for the high-stakes action thriller
Written by Shin Jeon Young and directed by Song Hyun Wook, 'Walking On Thin Ice' follows a desperate mother and a teacher with a hidden identity who are thrown into an unexpected and dangerous partnership after stumbling upon a bag of drugs. The series promises intense action and suspense, wrapped in a compelling narrative about survival, secrets, and dual lives.
At the script reading, a star-studded cast including Lee Young Ae, Kim Young Kwang, and Park Yong Woo brought the story to life with their powerful performances.
Lee Young Ae takes on the lead role of Kang Eun Soo, a determined mother caught in extreme circumstances. Her portrayal balanced desperation, vulnerability, and resilience, raising expectations for a strong comeback performance.
Kim Young Kwang plays Lee Kyung, a charismatic after-school art instructor who moonlights as a nightclub MD. His dual persona added tension and mystery during the reading.
Veteran actor Park Yong Woo transforms into Jang Tae Gu, a seasoned detective tracking a drug-smuggling ring. His precise delivery and commanding presence hinted at the depth and charisma of his character.
Other cast members include Bae Soo Bin, Jo Yeon Hee, Hwang Jae Yeol, Do Sang Woo, Oh Yeon Ah, and Lee Kyu Sung, all of whom immersed themselves in their roles, fueling anticipation for the series’ premiere.
Speaking about the drama, Lee Young Ae shared, “I hope 'Walking On Thin Ice' serves as a new turning point not only for KBS dramas but also for the actors involved.”
