The band DAY6 has come under fire over alleged mistreatment of fans at their fan meeting.
On the 21st, several complaints surfaced online regarding the ticketing and entry policies for DAY6's fan meeting.
The posts included details from the official announcements about the ongoing fan meeting. One user expressed frustration, saying, “The verification process was stricter than airport security checks, presidential elections, or bank loan screenings,” criticizing the excessively strict ID verification required at the event.
The user continued, “Whether it’s a concert or a fan meeting, a friend, acquaintance, or family member might buy a ticket as a gift. I don’t understand why the ticket holder and attendee must match exactly, with real-time physical ID verification at the venue.” They added, “Sharing personal documents that include resident registration numbers and home addresses in group chats amounts to illegal collection of personal data.”
They also criticized the security staff and organizers, saying, “If someone is denied entry even after police verify their identity, it seems the organizers and security company are acting above the law. This is nothing short of abuse of power.”
Another fan shared a similar experience: “I booked the ticket under my mother’s name and brought her ID, a family relationship certificate, and my own ID, but the team leader still blocked my entry. I was shocked to see people uploading photos of their mom’s ID, the certificate, and their own ID in group chats. There were many others like me. This needs to be made public immediately.”
However, some fans had different experiences. “It seemed to be an issue with one specific security guard. I was able to enter right away after handing over my parent’s ID and the necessary documents,” one fan shared.
Other fans reacted with outrage: “This needs to be widely exposed as soon as possible,” “That security guard crossed the line,” and “The agency must ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
Meanwhile, DAY6 is currently holding their fourth official fan meeting, 'PIER TEN: All My Days', in celebration of their 10th debut anniversary. The event, held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, began on July 18. All six sessions sold out during the pre-sale for the 5th official fan club, My Day.
