TVXQ’s Yunho appeared on the June 24 episode of Leeteuk’s YouTube channel 'TrgiTrgi', where he candidly spoke about the hardships of being a leader for over two decades.
In a video titled “Survival Tips from K-pop’s Legendary Leaders”, Leeteuk asked if it had been difficult serving as TVXQ’s leader for 22 years.
Yunho replied, “Back then, managers would call on the leader to handle all kinds of issues. As a dancer in the group, I had to stand center, but it was hard to say that out loud myself. If I talked too much, I seemed pathetic; if I said too little, I came off as selfish. I struggled with that. I even cried alone at home sometimes.”
When asked if he would take on the leader role again if he could return to his youth, Yunho said, “I wouldn’t do it. I’ve lived that life once already.” He added with a laugh, “There’s no such thing as being the youngest anymore, so being in the middle sounds nice.”
Leeteuk later posted a photo with Yunho on social media, reminiscing about their trainee days when 23 of them lived in one house dreaming of debuting. He praised both TVXQ and Super Junior for continuing strong after 22 and 20 years, respectively.
Yunho responded with a heartfelt comment: “Thank you—respect for Super Junior’s 20th anniversary.”
