P Nation's rookie girl group Baby DONT Cry has issued an apology.

On June 22, P Nation released an official statement addressing concerns surrounding the teaser for their upcoming title track, "F Girl." The agency stated that while the teaser was not intended to carry any suggestive implications, they have decided to remove the controversial scene from the final version of the music video to avoid further misunderstandings or controversy. The teaser is currently set to private.

The full statement reads:

"Hello,

This is P NATION.

We sincerely thank you for the interest and support you have shown toward Baby DONT Cry’s debut.

We are aware of the concerns and controversy raised by some fans and members of the public regarding the teaser video for the debut title track ‘F Girl.’ We sincerely apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or concerned due to the video.

The title track ‘F Girl’ carries a message about breaking away from externally imposed standards, such as grading scales (A to F), and instead asks to be seen and understood just as one is. The opening scene of 'F Girl' MV Teaser 1, which shows actions like ‘chewing gum’ or ‘holding candy,’ was intended to create a rebellious yet playful tone. The overall flow and content of the full music video does not contain any provocative or suggestive elements in any part.

Nevertheless, to prevent any misunderstandings or further controversy regardless of the reason, we have decided to remove the scene in question from the final version of the music video. This decision was made primarily to protect the members of Baby DONT Cry and to respect the valuable opinions of our fans.

We would also like to address the use of the ‘cherry’ symbol for Baby DONT Cry.

The cherry was chosen as the group’s symbol because its small but vivid color matches the image of the Baby DONT Cry members. Cherries are widely used in various global brands and content with positive connotations. We want to clearly state that at no point during our planning process was any negative meaning or association with the cherry intended or considered.

To all of us involved in their production, Baby DONT Cry is deeply precious and deserves protection. We sincerely hope the members’ hard work and efforts are fully conveyed to fans and that their dreams shine brightly. We will do our utmost to ensure that Baby DONT Cry’s journey ahead is shared with fans in a joyful and healthy way.

Thank you."

In the MV teaser, one of the members is shown holding an item that resembles a condom in a convenience store setting, which sparked criticism that the scene was inappropriately suggestive, particularly given that all members are reportedly born between 2006 and 2008.

K-netizen reactions remain largely negative, accusing the company with speculation that the controversy was 'planned and intentional' to generate buzz and promote the rookie group. Comments include:

"People need to stop giving this attention, it's trending again lol"

"I want to ask what that scene was about—handing over something that looked like a condom while a white man stares—but I guess it's a relief they took it out"

"'We never once considered or intended any negative meaning or association' → Even if it wasn’t considered, if it causes an issue, you should change it. Just doing it because it wasn’t intentional? That’s okay? lol"

"This feels like a stunt to bait attention. We need to stop caring"

"Like KISS OF LIFE, this kind of noise marketing is so exhausting. Just make it big in a fair way—what is this?"

"Knew this would happen"

"The marketing is entertaining"

"What’s the point of making the group name known like this?"

"I mean, even if they claim it wasn’t intended as a negative image, as creators they should have anticipated the possible interpretations"

"Well, the feedback was quick… The members looked pretty. Please be more careful next time"

"They probably named it like that on purpose to stir up controversy"

"Of course it was intentional—just part of the promotion"

"But this whole thing is clearly staged. Are there any fans who don’t know? lol It’s funny they’re pretending they only now realized it. It’s comedy. The kids did nothing wrong, but the company—pulling off such a low-grade viral stunt—is what makes it worse"

"They tried to stir up attention with that concept, and we all saw through it. Everyone expected this kind of excuse to come out. They really have no conscience. What are they doing to underage girls?"

"Who would even buy this kind of excuse?"

"Wow for real, 'you're the pervert' ending—iconic lol"

What are your thoughts?
