A shocking new development has just occurred in the ongoing case involving national footballer Son Heung Min and the couple accused of blackmailing him, referred to as ‘Yang’ and ‘Yong’.
Today, Yang (a woman in her 20s) and Yong (a man in his 40s) arrived at the courthouse for a pretrial detention warrant hearing. The two are accused of blackmailing Son Heung Min for over 300 million KRW, threatening to release evidence of Yang's alleged pregnancy with Son Heung Min's child if he did not pay. The two had previously dated, and in June of 2024, Yang sent Son Heung Min ultrasound images and allegedly used this as a way to blackmail him.
Though speculations were made over whether Yang's pregnancy was real or fake, police have now confirmed that Yang was indeed pregnant. By examining the woman's hospital records, police were able to confirm that she had had an abortion, and that the ultrasound images sent to Son Heung Min were real and did belong to Yang. However, it has not been determined whether the baby was Son Heung Min's or not.
The investigation continues, as police aim to determine whether Yang used this pregnancy to blackmail Son Heung Min or not. At her court appearance today, Yang once again denied that she had blackmailed Son Heung Min.
