Choo Young Woo and Cho Yi Hyun have been confirmed as the lead actors in the upcoming tvN fantasy romance drama 'Head Over Heels,' a story set against the backdrop of Korea's traditional shamanistic culture.
The drama follows the emotional journey of a boy who is facing the end of his life and a high school shaman who falls in love with him. Inspired by traditional Korean folklore, the series blends myth and modern romance to create a unique narrative.
Choo Young Woo takes on the role of Bae Kyun Woo, a boy with a doomed fate, while Cho Yi Hyun plays Park Seong Ah, a high school student and shaman determined to change his destiny. Their fight against what has been predetermined forms the core of the story.
The drama also brings together director Kim Yong Wan and writer Yang Ji Hoon, who previously worked on acclaimed titles such as 'The Whirlwind' and 'The Cursed.' Their strong storytelling and direction have already raised expectations for this project.
'Head Over Heels' is drawing particular attention as Choo Young Woo’s next project. He recently impressed viewers with his performance as a devoted storyteller in JTBC’s historical drama 'The Tale of Lady Ok,' and as a dedicated doctor in Netflix’s 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.'
Cho Yi Hyun, known for her stable and engaging performances across a variety of roles, is also gaining attention for how she will portray the unique character of a teenage shaman.
With its modern interpretation of traditional shamanism and a story of love and fate, Head Over Heels is set to air on tvN.
