Actress Seo Ye Ji has been confirmed as the host of episode 2 of SNL Korea season 7, marking her first-ever appearance on a comedy program.

On April 2nd, Coupang Play’s SNL Korea team announced Seo’s casting, stating, “Through her first comedy stage, Seo Ye Ji will showcase a transformation unlike anything seen before and reveal a wide spectrum of charm that will captivate viewers.”

Her appearance follows her much-talked-about performance at her first solo fan meeting last December, where she covered BLACKPINK Jennie’s Mantra" stage — raising anticipation about what kind of bold transformation she’ll bring to the sketch show.

Seo Ye Ji has been embroiled in several controversies since 2021, beginning with allegations of gaslighting her then-boyfriend, actor Kim Jung Hyun. She was later also accused of school bullying, academic fraud, and being romantically involved with actor Kim Soo Hyun during overlapping timelines. These issues significantly impacted her public image.

With SNL Korea known for its sharp satire and fearless humor, all eyes are on whether the show will address Seo’s past controversies through comedic sketches — potentially reframing them into memes or punchlines.

Seo Ye Ji shared her thoughts on hosting: “I can’t believe I’m hosting SNL Korea. It’s an honor to stand on the nation’s top comedy stage. I want to put all my energy into making people laugh.”

Meanwhile, actor Ha Jung Woo will appear as the host of episode 1, which is set to premiere on April 5th.
