On the April 4th episode of the YouTube channel "CONSO," Lovelyz's Ryu Soo Jung and Laboum's Yujeong discussed their friendships during their active years. Ryu Soo Jung explained that their groups often overlapped during music show promotions, leading to familiarity, but limited phone access made it difficult to become close.
Yujeong then revealed that both groups were restricted from using cell phones for about four years during their contracts. Ryu Sujeong emphasized the strictness, stating, "We really didn't use them. We were quite strict." Yujeong echoed this, saying, "When they told us not to, we didn't."
This led host Nam Ho Yeon to question, "Then how did Yulhee get pregnant if Laboum wasn't allowed to use cell phones?" Yujeong then revealed, "She hid it and then got caught."
Yulhee had previously admitted to being in a relationship with FT Island member Choi Minhwan in 2017 while still active with Laboum. She subsequently left the group due to her premarital pregnancy.
Yujeong also elaborated on the agency's strict policies regarding dating, stating, "There wasn't a clause [in the contract], but the company strongly told us not to date. There were CCTVs in the dorm's shoe rack, so they monitored whether we went out or not. Once, in our first year, I briefly went out to get bubble tea and was called back to the company." This revelation surprised everyone present.
