Popular girl group KISS OF LIFE is now facing severe backlash over their actions during a recent livestream.

The livestream was held in order to celebrate member Julie’s birthday, who had requested that everyone follow an ‘old-school hip-hop theme’ for the party. In doing so, the members of KISS OF LIFE used outfits and hairstyles that are currently one of the main reasons the group is facing accusations of cultural appropriation and racism. With cornrows, Bantu knots, gold chains, and “rapper-themed outfits,” KISS OF LIFE is now under fire for their appearances during the birthday livestream.

The group is facing additional backlash for some of their actions during the livestream, which included using stereotypical mannerisms, dancing to rap music, eating stereotypical foods, referring to one member as 'Lil Taco Bell,' and attempting to freestyle rap.

In addition, fans have uncovered evidence that KISS OF LIFE anticipated the backlash to the livestream but continued with it anyways: on March 31, KISS OF LIFE posted a Bubble message stating, "This year's birthday live was so much fun... Please look forward to Julie unnie's birthday content too, and promise you won't leave the fandom after watching it."

In response, fans are now petitioning KISS OF LIFE's company S2 Entertainment to take the livestream down, and requesting that the group apologize for their actions. Many fans are currently sharing their disappointment on social media, and debating whether to remain fans of KISS OF LIFE after this.
