On April 29, Netflix unveiled the teaser poster and trailer for its first Korean animated film, 'Lost in Starlight' (written by Han Ji Won and Kang Hyun Joo, directed by Han Ji Won).
'Lost in Starlight' is set in Seoul in the year 2050. It tells the romantic story of Nan Young (voiced by Kim Tae Ri), an astronaut who dreams of exploring Mars, and Jay (voiced by Hong Kyung), who has put aside his dream of becoming a musician, as they move toward their dreams and love.
The teaser poster captures the dreamy hues of a pink sunset, perfectly complementing a romantic moment between Nan Young and Jay.

The trailer begins with the first meeting between Nan Young and Jay. Nan Young fatefully encounters Jay at an audio equipment store while trying to repair her late mother’s turntable, and the two begin to grow closer.
Kim Tae Ri and Hong Kyung convey tender emotions through their voices. Kim Tae Ri delivers a performance that is both lively and wistful, while Hong Kyung adds a romantic touch with his soft, low-toned voice.

Director Han Ji Won’s delicate and dreamy world-building also shines through. Iconic locations in 2050 Seoul, such as Sewoon Arcade and Jamsu Bridge, are vividly portrayed through beautiful animation.
Han Ji Won previously won the Indie Star Award at the Seoul Indie-AniFest for 'Kopi Luwak.' The film was also invited to prestigious festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival and the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
'Lost in Starlight' will premiere on Netflix on May 30.
