On January 3, YouTuber Park We and Singer Song Ji Eun announced a temporary suspension of activities on their joint YouTube channel, expressing heartfelt condolences for the victims of a recent aviation tragedy. The couple, known for their inspirational channel WERACLE, shared their grief and solidarity with those affected.
A post on the WERACLE community read, "This feels like an incredibly heavy and heartbreaking time. It’s still hard to believe the events of that day."
They continued, "Our hearts ache deeply. We sincerely pray for the families enduring this unimaginable pain." The channel also informed followers that a video originally scheduled for release that day would be postponed until next week.
The tragedy unfolded on December 29, 2024, when Jeju Air Flight 7C2216, traveling from Bangkok to South Korea, crashed during a landing attempt at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province. The crash caused a fire that claimed the lives of 179 of the 181 people onboard, leaving only two crew members as survivors.
In light of the disaster, the South Korean government declared a national mourning period through January 4, honoring the victims and supporting their grieving families.
