Wonder Girls’ Yenny (HA:TFELT) expresses delight following President Yoon’s arrest.
Yenny, former member of Wonder Girls, took to her social media on the 15th to share her thoughts in what appears to be a reaction to the recent arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol.
Yeeun posted a photo of a clear blue sky along with the caption, “The weather is beautiful, and it’s such a refreshing start to the day.” The timing of her post led many netizens to speculate that she was expressing her feelings regarding the President’s arrest earlier that morning.
This isn’t the first time Yenny has voiced her political opinions. Last month, she shared a photo of herself attending a protest calling for Yoon’s impeachment outside the National Assembly. Captioned with “The weather is nice,” the photo showed Yeeun standing among citizens participating in the demonstration.
She has also posted other moments of her activism, including holding a light stick while writing “Long live the Republic of Korea,” and enjoying snacks from food trucks at the protest site late at night.
In a prior statement, Yenny shared her motivation for protesting: “I join protests for myself, to live well. I want people’s livelihoods to stabilize quickly so they can shop more. Politics is deeply connected to my everyday life.”
At 10:33 a.m. on the same day, President Yoon Suk Yeol was arrested at the Hannam-dong Presidential Residence on charges related to the 12/3 martial law declaration. Authorities executed the arrest discreetly, without revealing images of the President being escorted from the residence or boarding a security vehicle.
