Seohyun , a member of Girls’ Generation and an actress, left a meaningful message after attending the '2024 KBS Drama Awards.'
On January 12, Seohyun posted on a fan communication platform, saying, "The final winner is always a good person. Let’s reflect on this and end today meaningfully. Thank you all, and I love you." Seohyun had co-hosted the awards ceremony, which aired on January 11. Her message sparked speculation that it might be a response to actor Kim Jung Hyun, who won the Best Actor award for the KBS drama 'Iron Family'.
In his acceptance speech, Kim said, “I know how flawed and lacking I am, but I’m thankful to be here. A few years ago, I thought I’d never be able to act again for various reasons. I’m truly grateful to stand here now.” He continued, “True gratitude cannot exist without reflection on the past. I once caused hurt and discomfort with my terrible actions. I sincerely apologize for what I did.”
Kim Jung Hyun’s speech seemed to address the controversy surrounding his behavior during the 2018 press conference for the MBC drama 'Time', where he refused to pose with Seohyun or interact with her. This behavior led to his withdrawal from the drama.
In 2021, he issued a handwritten apology, stating, “My actions at the press conference and my departure from Time were entirely my fault. I deeply apologize to Seohyun and everyone who worked hard on the project.”
Reports at the time revealed that Kim showed discomfort during scenes with physical contact and even used wipes to clean his hands after touching Seohyun. Witnesses said this caused Seohyun significant emotional distress, with her reportedly breaking down in tears in her dressing room.
The resurfaced controversy and Seohyun’s reflective message have reignited discussions among fans and the public.
