On January 17, news broke that actress Kim Min Hee is expecting a child with director Hong Sang Soo. Reports suggest that Hong Sang Soo's wife was unaware of the pregnancy.
According to Korean media outlet KStarNews, Hong Sang Soo’s wife expressed her surprise during a phone interview: "I had no idea about this (pregnancy). Thank you for informing me.” She declined to answer further questions from reporters.
Dispatch reported that Kim Min Hee naturally conceived the child last summer and is now nearing her due date, with the baby expected to arrive this spring.
Hong Sang Soo married his current wife in 1985, whom he met during his time studying in the United States. The couple has one daughter. However, in 2015, he met Kim Min-hee during the production of the film 'Right Now, Wrong Then.'
Their relationship became public in 2017 during the press conference for the movie 'On the Beach at Night Alone,' where they confirmed they were romantically involved.
