Another K-Pop award ceremony has joined the long list, the brand new 'D Awards with UPICK'.
Organized by media outlet Sports DongA, the first 'D Awards with UPICK' will take place next year on February 22 at 6 PM KST at Korea University's Hwajeong Gymnasium.
The award ceremony will recognize outstanding K-Pop artists in two main categories - 'D Awards Delights' and 'D Awards Dreamers'. The former will be awards given to the top artists of the past year, while the latter will recognize rising stars.
Additional award categories will include 'Artist of the Year', 'Album of the Year', 'Song of the Year', 'Performance of the Year', and 'Globalist of the Year', as well as the 'Iconic Awards', given to outstanding artists and production crews whose global activities positively impacted the future of the K-Pop industry.
Next, in partnership with the official sponsor of the 'D Awards', the 'Fanpick' award will be determined 100% by fan voting on the UPICK app. Finally, nominees for the '1st D Awards with UPICK' will be announced in early January along with a series of announcements for the artist and presenter lineups.
Aside from the 'Fanpick' category, all awards at the 'D Awards' will be determined by a combination of online votes, streaming, downloads, physical sales, judging, and SNS votes.
