'Gee' becomes Girls' Generation's first track to surpass 100 million Spotify streams

The iconic girl group Girls' Generation reached a new significant milestone on a major platform.

According to Spotify's update on December 13 KST, the girl group's 2009 track "Gee" racked up to over 100 million streams on Spotify, becoming their first-ever song to do so. "FOREVER 1" is the next song set to surpass the milestone with 88 million listens as of writing.

The song was released in January 2009 as the lead single of their first mini-album of the same name. It took "Gee" 15 years and 10 months to reach the 100 million stream mark.
