EXO member Baekhyun is set to make his return to the variety show scene.
On December 28, Star News exclusively reported that Baekhyun has been confirmed as part of the cast for TVING’s original variety show 'Great Escape: Reboot.'
'Great Escape' is a unique adventure variety show featuring mind-bending stages that transcend time and space. Since its debut in July 2018 with Season 1, the show has captivated audiences with its bold storytelling, elaborate set designs, and large-scale production. It enjoyed continued success with Season 2 in 2019, Season 3 in 2020, and Season 4 in 2021.
However, production for a new season was paused after the show’s main director, Jung Jong Yeon, left CJ ENM in 2022. Producer Jung later joined TEO, a production company founded by Kim Tae Ho, and launched Netflix’s variety show 'The Devil’s Plan.'
The new season of 'Great Escape' will be helmed by Lee Woo Hyung, a CP at CJ ENM known for directing tvN’s 'The Backpacker Chef,' '4 Wheeled Restaurant,' and 'The Genius Paik' series.
Meanwhile, Baekhyun has been busy with his music career, releasing his fourth mini-album, 'Hello, World,' in September.
