aespa’s Winter reflects on 2024 in candid diary.
On December 8 KST, GQ Korea‘s official channel released a video titled “2025’s Most Anticipated Woman, Winter’s 2024 Diary Highlights.”
When asked about words that gave her strength or comfort this year, Winter named “puppy” and “gelato ice cream.” She shared, “There are a few words that instantly lift my mood. Puppies—whenever I’m feeling down, I watch puppy videos. And gelato ice cream—I live for the moment I go back to the dorm and have gelato after work.”
For the phrase she used most in 2024, Winter humorously answered, “What’s for lunch today?” and “What time do we leave tomorrow?” Adding, she noted, “But above all, I think I said ‘unni’ the most—when calling my manager or my two older members.”
Reflecting on the “metallic, sweet, and bitter” moments of the year, Winter explained:
• Metallic: “Definitely aespa’s activities. People often describe our songs as having a metallic taste, and no matter what we do, there’s that element in our music.”
• Sweet: “Eating ice cream after work.”
• Bitter: “Pulling all-nighters for schedules—it’s the bitter taste of life.”
Discussing her “2024 Winter mindset,” she confessed, “I’m not very optimistic. I think being overly positive can lead to more disappointment. I try to stay as realistic as possible. While working, I approach things with a T (thinking) mindset, but personally, I think my mindset is more F (feeling).”
When asked what she’d tell herself on the last day of 2024, Winter shared, “My birthday is January 1, so I’d say, ‘Happy early birthday!’ Last year, I set a goal of winning a grand prize, and I achieved it. I’d tell myself, ‘You worked so hard, and I’m proud of you. Let’s do even better next year.’”
Lastly, when asked if she often gifts herself, Winter replied, “I love eating, so I treat myself to good food. There’s something comforting about eating alone. At the dorm, I eat at my own pace, enjoy my favorite dishes, and watch something fun while relieving stress.”
