Yoo Jae Suk hilariously exposed Gong Yoo for having 8+ mobile games on his phone.
On the November 9 installment of the YouTube series 'Just An Excuse', actors Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin of the new Netflix original series 'Trunk' appeared as guests to chat up hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Yang Se Chan.
Here, Yoo Jae Suk pointed to Gong Yoo and said, "I saw that you have like 8 mobile games downloaded on your phone. Why do you play so many games?"
Hearing this, Gong Yoo explained, "See, I have an app for learning English on my phone that I'm trying to use every day. If you pay for it, you won't have to watch ads, but if you don't pay, you have to watch ads once in a while. So I kept getting these game ads, and I eventually fell for it."
The actor added on, "I think I was gaslit. You get the same ads over and over again, and you end up getting brainwashed. So I started with one, but then around the time I got tired of the first game, I fell for an ad for another game, and that's how I ended up with 8. But I've quit playing all of them now."
Yang Se Chan also attested to the sly nature of mobile game ads, saying that he fell for several of them as well. To this, Gong Yoo remarked, "And they make you spend money. That's why I have an ironclad rule, to never overspend. It's a business ploy to get you to spend money."
But when Yoo Jae Suk asked the actor, "Are you saying that you don't fall for that ploy?", Gong Yoo quickly answered, "Well, I've fallen for it a couple of times."
He continued, "But I learned my lesson. If I spend money on a good item to get to the next level, it feels good in the spur of the moment, but you end up regretting it later on. Then you feel bad, and like you lost because you fell for the business ploy."
