It was revealed that actress Yeom Hye Ran had taken special care of fellow 'The Glory' actress Park Ji Ah before her passing.
Park Ji Ah made her debut in 2002 and later gained recognition for her role as Jung Mi Hee, the mother of Song Hye Kyo’s character in the Netflix series 'The Glory' (2022–2023). Tragically, after finally finding the spotlight, she passed away at the age of 52 on September 30 after battling a stroke, leaving the public heartbroken.
On October 8, Park Ji Ah’s younger brother posted a lengthy message on social media, drawing attention to Yeom Hye Ran’s kindness. Yeom Hye Ran, who played Kang Hyun Nam, affectionately called "Auntie" by Song Hye Kyo’s character in 'The Glory,' had a close connection with Park Ji Ah. Yeom Hye Ran recently won the Best Supporting Actress award at the '2024 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards' in Busan on October 6 for her role in 'Mask Girl.' During her acceptance speech, she touched hearts by saying, “I will remember Park Ji Ah, who always told me I was a ‘blessed actress’ during her lifetime, and I pray that she rests in peace in heaven.”
In response, Park Ji Ah’s younger brother shared a screenshot of an article about Yeom Hye Ran’s acceptance speech. He expressed his gratitude, saying, "Yeom Hye Ran, thank you. When my sister was in critical condition in the ICU and we weren’t allowed to visit, you came multiple times, praying fervently for her from outside the door. Even when she barely survived and was fighting her illness, you visited her several times, speaking to her and caring for her even though she was unconscious. Through the nurses, I learned about the love and friendship you showed my sister, which even our family didn’t know about."
He continued, "You stood by my sister until her final moments. You held my mother’s hand tightly, hugging her, and offering your heartfelt comfort. We are so deeply thankful. I was too overwhelmed to express my gratitude properly, so once again, I bow my head in thanks."
He added, "I came across the article by chance as I was trying to go about my daily life. It gives great strength to my mother and me. Thank you for not forgetting my sister even amidst your joyful award win. And congratulations on your award," tagging Yeom Hye Ran.
Earlier, on October 2, after Park Ji Ah’s funeral, her younger brother shared his deep sorrow, writing, "After saying goodbye to my sister... I miss the times when we would call each other ‘fool’ and play around with short jokes. It feels like my heart is tearing apart. I always worried about how pure-hearted and naive she was, and how she didn’t know the ways of the world, but now, I just hope she’s happy and carefree in the place where our father is. I miss her so much. I miss her so desperately!"
