'Culinary Class Wars' winner Chef "Napoli Matfia" reveals how he spent the 300 million KRW ($220,000) prize money

'Culinary Class Wars' winner Chef Kwon Sung Joon, also known as "Napoli Matfia," revealed how he used the 300 million KRW (~220,216 USD) prize money.

On October 16, Chef Kwon Sung Joon appeared as a special guest on the latest episode of the tvN talk show 'You Quiz on the Block.' Upon his appearance, Chef Kwon Sung Joon received congratulations from hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho for his victory on the popular Netflix show.

The chef reflected on his win and shared, "When I think about it now, I wonder 'How did I win?' It became clearer to me while watching the broadcast, and I thought to myself, 'How did I beat all those people?' But at the same time, I also feel like I could win again if I competed."

Yoo Jae Suk asked about the popularity he gained after he appeared on the show. Yoo Jae Suk asked, "I'm sure you received a lot of calls from shows requesting your appearance thanks to the immense popularity." Chef Kwon responded, "Honestly, the only show I wanted to appear on was 'You Quiz on the Block.' It's a bit embarrassing but I tailored a suit the week after I won because everyone wears suits on this show. I felt I would get a call (from this show)."

In particular, Yoo Jae Suk asked about the prize money and asked the chef where he used it. Chef Kwon responded, "I'm cautious about becoming complacent. I didn't want to see the money. So I immediately used the 300 million KRW to secure a rental home next to my restaurant so that I could stay focused on my restaurant. It makes commuting easier."
