A BBC article released on July 10, with the title 'Will K-pop's AI experiment pay off?', has brought about much discontent within the Seventeen fandom. It is said to have misconstrued SEVENTEEN Woozi’s words, in which Woozi said he has experimented with AI technology.

In the article, BBC makes the direct claim that “Several of (K-pop’s) biggest stars have now used (AI) to create music videos and write lyrics, including boy band Seventeen.”

On July 14, Woozi has taken to his personal Instagram account to refute said claims, with an Instagram story clarifying that “All of SEVENTEEN’s music is written and composed by human creators.”

Aside from being a member of the popular boy group SEVENTEEN, Woozi is also one of the group’s main producers as he is involved in the lyric-writing and composition of almost every of their songs. He has also produced songs for other artists, such as Ailee, I.O.I, and fromis_9.
