Jin has successfully carried the Olympic flame in Paris!
The day has arrived when BTS member Jin proudly carried the flame as the first torchbearer of the 2024 Paris Olympics, coinciding with Bastille Day, the French National Day. He carried the torch around 8:30 PM local time at the Pyramid of the Louvre Museum.
Netizens celebrated this historic moment in real-time across social media, sharing footage of Jin walking as the torchbearer.
Chosen by the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, Jin represented the Republic of Korea as the first torchbearer for the Louvre section of the relay in downtown Paris.
The torch relay will feature around 10,000 participants, including notable figures like soccer legend Didier Drogba, members of the French Resistance who fought against the Nazis, and survivors of the 2016 Nice truck attack.
Jin was discharged from his military service on June 12 and immediately resumed activities, starting with a fan meeting on June 13.
