BTOB's Sungjae and Cosmic Girls' Bona are in talks to star in the upcoming drama 'Gwigoong'.
On May 10, reports stated Sungjae and Bona have joined the cast of the new drama, and their labels quickly clarified they're reviewing their casting offers.
If cast, Sungjae will take on the role of a concubine's son who becomes a royal inspector and later gets possessed by evil spirit Gang Cheol Yi. Bona has been offered the role of Young Mae, who's an honored shaman's granddaughter. The two characters are also childhood friends and first loves.
'Gwigoong' is a fantasy historical romance drama about an Eight Feet Tall spirit who has a grudge against the king, a female shaman who fights against it, and an Imuri named Gang Cheol Yi. According to Korean folklore, an Imuri is a creature that spends a millennium in crystal clear water to transform into a dragon.
The series is expected to premiere on SBS in 2025.
