It was previously reported that a broadcast writer was being sentenced to 9 years for defrauding a former idol group member of 2.6 billion won. 

The former idol was facing sexual harassment charges and paid the writer because they claimed they would be able to pay off officials to get the idol cleared of charges. 

In response, Korean netizens shared their thoughts on the matter on a Korean online community.

"If my money got stolen like that I wouldn't have been able to get it back like this."

"If they had just stopped after the first 1.6 billion, then they probably wouldn't have gotten caught."
