A new boy group under SSQ Entertainment has appeared in K-pop's ever-growing world, and they aim to make a lasting impact. Their name, DXMON, is inspired by the Greek word "Daimon," and it expresses how they will shape their own identity and ultimately achieve their goals. Goals that the members MINJAE, SEITA, HEE, TK, REX, and JO are working on: "to become a group that tours the world" and "to receive the 'Rookie of the Year' Award."

Their first mini-album, 'HYPERSPACE,' boasts electrifying songs, including "N.W.B," "Burn Up," "SPARK," and "Very," and is about embracing possibilities and being ambitious to reach their dream. "This album offers a diverse range of musical genres, which is why I think it's so fitting," said REX.

Following their debut in January, DXMON sat down with allkpop to talk about finally debuting, the process of preparing for 'HYPERSPACE,' what made them interested in being K-Pop idols, and more. Continue reading to learn more about the new six-member group!

DXMON shout-out to allkpop readers:

allkpop: Hi, DXMON! Firstly, congratulations on your debut! I was wondering what was your reaction when you first heard your group name? And tell us why you collectively decided to be named DXMON. What is your vision as DXMON?

TK: When I first heard the name DXMON, it struck me as a unique name. I remember saying that the name is anything but ordinary, so it would leave a lasting impression on the public when discussing it with the members.

MINJAE: I agree with TK. Our aim as a group is to deliver energetic performances to the public, and we chose the name DXMON to align with the musical direction we hope to pursue.

allkpop: Since you just debuted, tell us one or two fun facts about yourself so that the readers and your fans can get to know you better!

MINJAE: I'm MINJAE, the cool, high-tension leader. At the age of 5, I ran into a rock while running around in Jeju Island, leaving me with a scar just above my eye!

SEITA: There are three sets of two moles on my face. Also, I own 20 pairs of identical long black socks!

HEE: My hands might surprise you—they're actually larger than you might expect!

TK: I don't have any secret fears of bugs or animals! In fact, I'm usually the one in charge of catching bugs or insects around the dorm. However, I do have an exception when it comes to dogs... As for cooking, despite my love for eating, I've hardly ever tried cooking and I'm not very skilled at it. (laughs)

REX: I’m born to an Uzbek mother and a Korean father. Since I was young, I've always loved sports and was good at them.

JO: I want to make the members laugh more, but I haven't quite found my knack for it yet. Sometimes when I make a joke, they don't find it funny, and I'm still trying to figure out what makes them laugh. On a different note, I am not a heavy eater. I prefer to eat a little and often throughout the day.

allkpop: Why do you think ‘HYPERSPACE’ is the ideal album for you to introduce DXMON to the world? What were your thoughts when you first heard the tracks?

REX: This album offers a diverse range of musical genres, which is why I think it's so fitting. When we first listened to the songs, everyone said, “Wow.” All the members love the tracks on this album, so it’s very special for us.

allkpop: Your hairstyles are so unique. Are there any kind of hairstyles you’d like to try for your future comebacks?

JO: I’ve always wanted to try white hair even before my debut. I do not think it will suit me well, but I want to give it a try regardless!

allkpop: Tell us more about how you prepared for your debut, especially the choreography. How long did it take you to learn and master the whole dance choreography?

MINJAE: Learning and mastering the choreography didn't take too much time initially, but incorporating changes and adding acrobatic moves extended the process to about 6 months in total.

HEE: It took me about a month to learn and master the choreography, but I continued practicing extensively for our debut, focusing on refining the details.

REX: While learning the choreography itself didn't take long, the process took around 6 months due to numerous revisions and extensive practice sessions.

allkpop: How did you find the overall album production, including the music video filming and song recording? Are there any stories you want to share with us? What was the most difficult and rewarding part of the process?

MINJAE: Mastering the high notes, especially in songs other than “N.W.B”, was challenging as it strained my neck during practice. However, I noticed a significant improvement in the quality of my high notes as I practiced, which made me proud of my progress.

TK: Every moment during filming and recording was memorable as it was my first in everything. Yet receiving compliments from the director and composer during the music video shoot and the recording was particularly gratifying and remains a cherished memory.

REX: Recording the rap part for the second verse of "Burn Up" was a standout moment for me. I was pleasantly surprised by how closely my voice matched that of the guide track, and receiving praise for the similarity in recording was a proud moment for me.

allkpop: Could you tell us who or what inspired you to pursue this career at a young age? Which artists do you look up to the most?

SEITA: I became interested in K-pop because my older sister was an EXO fan. Then I saw BTS perform live on TV which truly inspired me and sparked my dream of becoming an idol.

JO: It was my parents who first suggested the idea of pursuing this career. They noticed my talents and quick learning ability from a young age, so they encouraged me to pursue this path, and I was able to make my debut when a great opportunity came by. As for artists I admire, SHINee has always been a huge inspiration to me. Their stage presence, vocals, and overall talent motivate me to strive for excellence in my own career.

allkpop: Speaking of pursuing this career at a young age, is being an idol your No. 1 dream ever since, or did you have second thoughts about being an idol in the first place?

MINJAE: At first, my parents were against me becoming an idol. Yet I persisted by joining a dance team and going to auditions to pursue my dream.

SEITA: I started thinking about this career when I was in high school. Before, I had no intention of even trying because there were barriers such as lifestyle differences and language obstacles, especially since it involved living abroad.

HEE: I was a shy person, so I contemplated becoming an idol.

TK: Honestly, I did not dream of becoming an idol since young. There were other dreams that I had, but I was inspired by the performances of groups like BTOB and other K-pop artists. Seeing them, I felt I wanted to be like them so I decided to follow a similar path.

REX: Watching the performances and concert videos of senior K-pop artists gave me confidence in this career path, so I tried it right away.

JO: Becoming an idol wasn't the dream that I initially had. I originally thought about becoming a chef or a perfumer, as I loved cooking and using perfumes with over 10 perfume bottles collected. However, at my parents' suggestion, I started on this journey and I found that it suited me better than expected.

allkpop: Are there any musical genres or concepts that you would like to try or experiment with in the future?

SEITA: We all listen and love rock, so it is a genre I’d like to try. I also find the punk style appealing.

TK: I hope to explore a variety of musical genres. While this album prominently features our hip-hop side, I’d like to try a song that highlights the charm of the vocalists of the group.

allkpop: What are your goals, be they personal or career-related, that you hope to achieve in the next few years or this year?

REX: Our goal is to host our very own concert within the next few years! The mere thought of it fills me with joy. Another goal for this year is to engage in as many activities as we can as DXMON.

MINJAE: My goal is to become a group that tours the world. Thinking about meeting our fans, interacting with them, and performing on the stage makes me incredibly happy. Until then, we'll work hard to achieve this goal. Also, our biggest goal for this year is to receive the 'Rookie of the Year' Award!

allkpop: Lastly, any final messages to allkpop readers and your fans?

MINJAE: To readers of allkpop, thank you for checking out our interview. How did you like our first mini-album, 'HYPERSPACE'? Thank you, and please stay tuned for more to come from us!

JO: I love you, readers of allkpop! I wish you the best in everything you do and always be happy! And don’t forget to continue sending all your love to DXMON!
