"This tour is something that I've always dreamed of," Super Junior's Yesung makes his 'Unfading Sense' show in Manila a night to remember

On January 6, Super Junior member and solo artist Yesung wrapped up his solo concert at the New Frontier Theater in Manila, Philippines as part of his solo tour titled 'Unfading Sense.'

Throughout the 2-hour show, Yesung serenaded the crowd with his soothing vocal prowess, giving a good concert and spending quality time with his fans sharing his sincere thoughts. The tracks on the setlist include "Floral Sense," "It Has To Be You," "Beautiful," "Scented Things," and more.

"I prefer happy and rhythmical songs, ones that make me excited, than mellow and sad ones," he shared. During the segment, Yesung also revealed that he has bad eyesight and that he can't even read the prompters in front of him. He wore his glasses during the second set, "So I can see you all better and up close.

Every time I come to other countries, there are some Korean jokes you guys don't get," said Yesung. "And then I realized, I hope I can speak Tagalog." He added, "How I wish there's only one language in the world... It's a bit frustrating, isn't it?

The artist also pointed out one thing that he noticed from the audience. "You're not looking at my eyes, you're just looking at your phones... How can I make eye contact with you, all of you are busy taking videos?" he said, adding that he just wanted to make the concert memorable and special by trying his best to make eye contact with his fans.

This event marks Yesung's comeback in the Philippines since the group's fan concert show, which was held at the Araneta Coliseum on July 21, 2023 and their 'Super Show 9' at the Mall of Asia Arena in December 2022. Speaking of the group's 'Super Show' tours, Yesung joked, "Aren't you fed up with it yet?" as the crowd chanted "SS10!"

Kidding aside, Yesung hopes to come back both as a solo artist and with his members. "When our last album came out, I was actually persuading my members," he remarked. "I hope we can see one another again in our next 'Super Show.'" "Please continue to support me, not only me but also my fellow members, so we can come back again."

During the last set of songs, Yesung sang "Together," a song dedicated to his pets. Right after performing it, he shared a heartwarming story with the audience. "They say a pet's lifetime is around 13-15 years," he said. "Last Christmas and New Year's Eve, I tried my best to spend my time with my pets. My pets love to step on snow," he revealed. "I actually had an appointment with my friends to go to a province, but then it started to snow, so I had to cancel it and go to my pets." To him, his dogs, even though they're aging, still look like his puppies.

"When I was in my 20s, I didn't drink alcoholic drinks, and I didn't meet a lot of girls. I was actually a loner... all for the reason of 'anti-aging,'" he said. "I'm not yet a super senior, I still want to be a super junior," he added, drawing laughter from the crowd. "Well, to you, I'm still a baby."

"The flow of time is not very important to me," he stated. "You're still that E.L.F (Super Junior's fandom name) who I fell in love with back then."

As the concert drew to a close, Yesung relayed his messages. He said that there are a lot of thoughts going on in his mind as this is the first time he has gone to different cities by himself. "This tour was possible because of your support. I'm very happy because this kind of tour is something that I have always dreamed of." While he felt the excitement and joy of going on tour alone, he revealed that there were moments when he felt heavy, "Because I wanted to do more.

Yesung then promised to show more aspects of himself as an artist. "I have to make more of an effort to come see you more often. And I really wanted to sincerely thank you for supporting and coming to my concert. Please stay healthy until the time we meet again."

Following his event in Manila, 'Unfading Sense' will draw to a close in Macau on January 13. Yesung also said during the show that he still wants to visit the countries that he hasn't performed at yet.

Yesung is undoubtedly one of the best singer in his generation. I'm glad that he can achieve so much. Hopefully he will do more and more, both solo or with his group members
