AKP STAFF

'12.12: The Day' has surpassed 12.7 million viewers, making it to the top 9 in the all-time Korean movie box office. The film, set on December 12, 1979, in Seoul, portrays a tense 9-hour standoff against a military coup.

According to the Integrated Computer Network for Cinema Admission Tickets, as of 12:05 PM on the 13th, '12.12: The Day' recorded 12,701,120 viewers, surpassing 'The Outlaws 2' (12,693,415 viewers) and becoming the highest-grossing film in the post-pandemic era.

Remarkably, '12.12: The Day' is the only non-franchise film to break the ten million viewer mark during the pandemic, adding to its impressive feat.

Moreover, by crossing the 12.7 million viewer threshold, '12.12: The Day' has outperformed 'The Outlaws 2' and 'Masquerade' to update its record in the top 9 of the all-time Korean movie box office.

With '12.12: The Day' continuing to draw attention in its eighth week since release, anticipation is high to see how far this success will go.
