Veteran actor Han Suk Kyu is starring in the upcoming psychological thriller drama 'Such a Close Traitor'.
According to reports, Han Suk Kyu will be returning to MBC for the first time in 29 years with a brand new series. 'Such a Close Traitor' will follow Han Suk Kyu as Jang Tae Soo, a legendary criminal profiler in Korea. As one of the first in his field to pave the path for criminal behavior analysis, he gains respect and trust from the police. One day, he works on a murder case and realizes his own daughter is involved in the crime.
The screenplay behind 'Such a Close Traitor' was the winning project in the '2021 MBC Drama Screenplay Contest' by screenwriter Han Ah Young, and the drama has reportedly been in the works by MBC's drama development team for the past 3 years. The drama will be helmed by director Song Yeon Hwa of 'The Red Sleeve' and 'Hunted'.
'Such a Close Traitor' is expected to premiere in the second half of 2024.
