It was previously reported that BTOB would be leaving Cube Entertainment following the expiration of their exclusive contracts with the company. As the group makes the transition into the next phase of their career, they are currently in negotiations to retain the rights to their group name.  

BTOB debuted under Cube Entertainment in 2012, and the group successfully renewed their contracts once during their tenure. However, the contract's expiration has led to rampant reports of other agencies attempting to lure BTOB with contracts purportedly crossing into billions of won.

The BTOB members, known for maintaining a good rapport with each other, is expected to continue their activities apart from Cube. However, their ability to retain the ‘BTOB’ name is questionable due to ongoing negotiations concerning trademark rights with the agency. The agency has assured that “positive discussions” are underway, though outstanding issues such as profit-sharing continue to pose problems.

The BTOB situation echoes that of Cube Entertainment’s former senior group, B2ST. Following unsuccessful trademark rights negotiations, B2ST was forced to rebrand as Highlight.
