MC Mong's representative denies involvement in EXO legal dispute, clarifies the musician's relationship with Baekhyun

AKP STAFF

On June 2 KST, Kohwoo Law Firm, representing musician/producer MC Mong, issued an official statement to the press in order to address the speculations that he is an "outside force" in the ongoing legal dispute between EXO members Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen and SM Entertainment

MC Mong's side began, "Previously, SM Entertainment raised the claim that 'outside forces' had approached EXO members Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen with aims to instigate the recent legal dispute. Unfortunately, soon afterward, several news articles have made speculative reports claiming that MC Mong and Big Planet Made were the 'outside forces' in question."

The musician's side then stated, "As to prevent the further spread of misinformation, MC Mong would like to clarify that he did not make any intentional attempts to instigate friction between the EXO members SM Entertainment. When considering the fact that MC Mong is not an executive director of Big Planet Made, it's clear that the speculative reports are far from the truth."

The statement then clarified, "MC Mong happens to know Baekhyun on a personal level as close sunbae-hoobae artists, but he did not use his personal relationship with Baekhyun in any way as to recruit him. They met for personal reasons, and after hearing out the troubles that Baekhyun had with his agency, MC Mong merely offered his hoobae consolation."

Finally, MC Mong's legal representative stressed that the media refrain from speculative reports involving MC Mong's name which could damage the musician's image.

SM is doing what they do best, showing their bullying techniques by going after anyone they believe to be a threat- which is ironic considering that they themselves are their own threat to success. SM and their shady practices past and present are what brought this outcome to fruition- trying to blame smaller companies or associates is a weak move that won't go over well in the public eye. If Baekhyun was talking to him, I guarantee that wasn't the only artist he sought counsel from in this situation. I'm sure Xiumin and Chen did the same, and after gaining better understanding and a general consensus that they were being cheated, they finally banded together and did something about it. The wasted potential of EXO still amazes me to this day considering how much revenue they still bring to the table. They could have had so much more, and they should have had further opportunities than they did. To add insult to injury by trapping them in these ridiculous contracts and skimming their earnings was playing with fire.

Here goes SM barking and making a useless racket up the wrong tree. Sneaky shady management just trying to cause a distraction from the frying pan fire that's about to roast the hell out of them. Now they are trying to insult Exo intelligence, why wouldn't Exo members seek legal advise? Why shouldn't grown men in charge of their lives be financially responsible and ask questions. Mc Mong is not SMs problem, it's those slave contracts and accounting discrepancies that have been their stock in trade for ages. The boys have grown up and shots have been fired game on!
