Earlier this year, there was news that Nævis, the virtual character who helps the group's avatars seen in aespa's universe, will be making her own debut as a solo artist.
In January, one media outlet stated that Nævis's voice will be created by sampling and digitizing the voices of 12 voice actresses and will be debuting as a solo artist. There has not been any more news on the AI's solo debut.
Then recently, Ningning confirmed that Nævis is definitely preparing to debut and aespa had actually taken one of her songs.
On the fan communication app Bubble, Ningning took time to communicate with fans and asked them how they liked the pre-released song "Welcome To MY World (feat. Nævis)".
She wrote, "How's the song? It's so my style. I don't know if everyone heard, but this song wasn't ours...It was Nævis' solo debut track...We coveted it as soon as we heard it...so we stole it." She apologized to Nævis and said, "Nævis sorry...debut as a solo next time."
Netizens commented, "lol, she said debut solo next time," "She's so cute," "I'm glad they took her song," "This is so funny," "I love Ningning," "This is so hilarious," "I was wondering whose song they stole and it was Nævis," "I'm relieved that aespa took her song lol," "After finding out that this song was originally Nævis' song, it sounds very Nævis-like," and "So cute. I hope aespa keep stealing every Naevis song, until Naevis forfeits her idol dream and never debuts. We don’t need another AI artist. Maybe they can give her a job as part of the interface of some SM app.
