Since the announcement thatMAMAMOO+, a subunit of the group MAMAMOO made up of Solar and Moon Byul, revealed will be making their upcoming first unit comeback on March 29, 2023, with the single album "ACT 1, SCENE 1" and the title track "Good Girl, Bad Boy." Many fans have been excited to see what the idols have in store, especially after the "Chico malo" pre-release before the album. 

However, it appears that the duo has fully embraced the 1st generation of kpop spirit in their newest MV teaser for the title track "GGBB" ("Good Girl, Bad Boy"). As many veteran fans of kpop were quick to point out that the pair have made a nod to the co-ed group "Roo'ra" in their latest teaser and likely comeback choreography. "Roo'ra" was a co-ed hip-hop and dance-pop vocal group in South Korea that was one of the country's most popular musical acts of the 1990s, slowly helping lay down the roots of the kpop fans know and love today.

Many fans quickly pointed out that parts of the choreography from the MAMAMOO+ teaser were clearly a homage to the group. Specifically Roo'ras Angel without Wings choreography. This, combined with  the y2k early kpop dance pop theme reflected in the teaser for the title track, only increased the excitement for fans. As the co-ed group was fundamental, bringing the dance-pop and hip-hop elements to the South Korean public in an energetic, fun way, everyone could dance to. Which many 3rd and 4th generation kpop fans may not be aware of or even have heard of. But it is safe to say that Roo'ra was instrumental in breaking down barriers not only on the chart but also for idols on stage.

Fans are even more excited than they were before for the duo's comeback, as it is rare for idols in the current generation to give a nod to the 1st generation groups in kpop. Which will allow new generations of fans to not only get familiar with an older group's music but hopefully communicate the colors and spirit of dance-pop energy through the choreo and music of their own comeback, making sure to place a y2k twist at the end for fun.
