Lee Seung Gi's side strongly denies Hook Entertainment's claims that 'financial records were confirmed by both sides in 2021'

Singer/actor Lee Seung Gi's legal representative has released a rebuttal against Hook Entertainment's most recent claims.

On November 25, Hook Entertainment denied the ongoing accusations that the agency withheld Lee Seung Gi's music distribution earnings for 18-years, instead claiming that "financial records were confirmed by both sides" in 2021, and that "due payments were fulfilled with both sides signing a mutual agreement."

Now, on November 28, Lee Seung Gi's legal representative has come forward to refute the above claims, once again emphasizing, "Lee Seung Gi has never once in his career received a record of finances when it came to his music earnings. It is impossible to guess what Hook Entertainment may be referring to when the company claims that payments for the artist's music earnings were fulfilled."

The legal representative further argued, "Hook Entertainment stated that all payment obligations were met in 2021 during Lee Seung Gi's contract renewal period, but this is false. The agreement that Lee Seung Gi signed during this time was not an agreement involving Lee Seung Gi's music earnings. This agreement specifically involved the property investment that Lee Seung Gi made in 2021 in Hook Entertainment, amounting to 4.7 billion KRW (~ $3.5 million USD)."

Earlier this week, various media outlets reported that Hook Entertainment had borrowed 4.7 billion KRW from Lee Seung Gi with 0% interest in 2011. Years later, when Lee Seung Gi expressed his desire to leave Hook Entertainment to establish a one-man agency, Hook Entertainment gaslit Lee Seung Gi into staying by offering the singer/actor approximately 6.7 billion KRW in "borrowed money, with interest"

"Hello, this is Lee Seung Gi's legal representative.
Through an official statement released on November 25, Hook Entertainment claimed that the accusations of withholding music earnings were false, and that all payment obligations were fulfilled and this fact was mutually agreed upon by both sides.
First, we express deep regret over Hook Entertainment's false claims. Based on such claims, Lee Seung Gi has concluded that all attempts to communicate with Hook Entertainment are at this point useless.
Up until this day, Lee Seung Gi has never once in his career received a record of finances when it came to his music earnings. It is impossible to guess what Hook Entertainment may be referring to when the company claims that payments for the artist's music earnings were fulfilled.
What is clear to us is that Hook Entertainment intentionally hid financial details involving Lee Seung Gi's music earnings from the artist. Additionally, there are no records with clear information of the earnings, and thus no proper payments were made. In fact, Hook Entertainment did not begin sharing a record of Lee Seung Gi's individual earnings until 2018, but even within these records, there are no mentions of his earnings through music distribution.
If Hook Entertainment paid Lee Seung Gi a portion of his music earnings as it claims, then records of the payment can be found after a thorough financial check. Calculating this amount into the legal request for transparent records will be easy. If there are payments that Hook Entertainment fulfilled, the amount can be simply subtracted from the additional payments that the agency failed to fulfill.
Once again, we express regret toward the fact that Hook Entertainment continues to refuse the simple act of revealing a clear record of Lee Seung Gi's music earnings, the agency's only response being to gaslight Lee Seung Gi with hurtful comments, such as 'You are a minus singer'.
Furthermore, Hook Entertainment stated that all payment obligations were met in 2021 during Lee Seung Gi's contract renewal period, but this is false. The agreement that Lee Seung Gi signed during this time was not an agreement involving Lee Seung Gi's music earnings. This agreement specifically involved the property investment that Lee Seung Gi made in 2011 for Hook Entertainment, amounting to 4.7 billion KRW (~ $3.5 million USD).
In 2011, Hook Entertainment acquired a property investment of 4.7 billion KRW from Lee Seung Gi for the purpose of purchasing a building. However, the agency's CEO Kwon Jin Young failed to keep any of the promises made regarding the investment. When Lee Seung Gi attempted to part ways with Hook Entertainment, the agency gaslit Lee Seung Gi by re-wording Lee Seung Gi's investment as simply 'borrowed' money, then returning the amount with interest.
Now, we would like to ask Hook Entertainment this. How could Lee Seung Gi, who had no idea that his music was collecting profit up until now, have agreed upon a record of music earnings and received proper payments?
If Hook Entertainment tries to argue that this agreement signed in 2021 dealt with the artist's music earnings, and that payments were fulfilled based on mutual agreement, then this can be considered a clear case of fraud.
As for Lee Seung Gi, he believes that all of the issues which have emerged in recent news is due to his own lack of experience and immaturity, the result of debuting at a young age. Currently, Lee Seung Gi is feeling deeply apologetic for causing many people concerns with his personal affairs.
Finally, we sincerely hope that the by unveiling the truth of the matter, all issues will be resolved fairly. We ask that Hook Entertainment stop causing discomfort to others through more exaggerations and lies.
Thank you."

If the company only started to provide him with the record of his individual earnings in 2018 maybe it makes sense for him to check all his earnings and not only the music part. And for all artists of this agency to do the same.

Jeeezz… that company is really crap!

Not only stole his money, gaslight him, threatening him.. they also borrow a property from him 🤯🤯🤯🤯 LSG really has been used to the max. I’m just surprised how many artists doesn’t have anyone to do their finance, or keep some bookkeeping themselves. And I even surprise how these company passed audit every year. Are they falsifying the receipt/signature and transfer payment??
