K-netizens aren't buying 'Street Man Fighter' Vata's claim that his choreography is 'entirely different' from ATEEZ's 'Say My Name'

Many netizens, both in Korea and around the globe, are skeptical of We Dem Boyz leader Vata's recent statement regarding his plagiarism controversy.

The 'Street Man Fighter' contestant is currently facing plagiarism accusations over a choreography move sequence he created for Zico's "New Thing". Soon after the "New Thing" dance challenge became a hot new challenge on SNS platforms, fans of boy group ATEEZ pointed out the similarities between Vata's move sequence and ATEEZ's choreography in the 2019 track "Say My Name".

On October 14, Vata issued a statement regarding the controversy via his Instagram, days after the issue made major news headlines. In the statement, Vata claimed that "the intention behind this move sequence is entirely different from the move sequence that it is currently being compared to." The dancer further commented on the current situation showing "a lack of respect".

Basically, many Korean netizens are of the opinion that Vata's statement is unsatisfactory. They commented,

"Just a cold wind... Shows how lightly he was taking this whole situation."
"Wow, there is some serious underlying hostility in his words. He basically just threw the original choreographer who spoke up about the issue under the bus."
"You can clearly pick up on the derogatory tone in his words."
"OMG the way he put his words... So rude. What a big, fat jerk."
"Wow and to think I was cheering this guy on in the show..."
"His whole statement is just dripping with disrespect and mockery."
"The other way of reading his statement is, there's no copyright laws in dance anyway so f*** off."
"I don't understand his logic at all. If the intention is different, then it's not plagiarism? What a sorry excuse."
"How rude and immature. Not to mention self-absorbed."
"What the heck is he talking about kekekekeke. Anyone with eyes can see that the two moves are the same kekekekeke."

So Wooyoung a professional dancer before becoming an idol does biting , which is absolutely classy and professional way to call out this bs and now this self centred pathetic being goes onto a social platform, utters absolutely bs and gaslights whole situation, downplays the words of original choreographer and acts bratty 💀

Who even drives motorcycle with one hand?

He could’ve copied apology too

Its true that he is not violating any law, as there’s no copyright over the dance move. But, It’s more about respect and moral values as a decent human being. Looks like he has none… Hence he’s comfortably being a complete jerk unleash such a shitty statement and throwing everyone under the bus. Not only disrespectful, he’s putting the blame in others. I hope he gets cancelled.
