On August 17, photos of two individuals walking hand in hand on the streets of Seoul caused a buzz online. Many netizens alleged that the male captured in the images was WINNER's Kang Seung Yoon, enjoying a date with his girlfriend. Soon these netizens deduced that the girlfriend was actress Moon Ji Hyo.

In response, YG Entertainment released an official statement saying, "It is difficult to confirm private matters related to our artists." 

With the statement from the agency and various media outlets also reporting on the WINNER member's suspected relationship, more netizens began looking for clues and evidence to prove that the two celebrities are dating.

Ultimately, netizens found an item seen on both Kang Seung Yoon's and Moon Ji Hyo's Instagram speculated to be a "Couple's item." The two were both seen wearing a short black beaded necklace in some of the Instagram posts, and netizens claimed that the item was evidence the two are in a relationship.

In particular, Moon Ji Hyo was seen wearing the necklace in several of her Instagram posts starting in May of last year, and Kang Seung Yoon was seen wearing the same necklace in June of last year. Hence, many netizens are certain that the two are dating.
