One of the most anticipated films of 2022, 'Broker' directed by Koreeda Hirokazu has been selected as a competitor for the '2022 Cannes Film Festival'.

Notably, 'Broker' marks celebrated Japanese filmmaker Koreeda Hirokazu's first Korean film project, working alongside production company Zip Cinema and distributor CJ ENM. The production also features a star-studded lineup of Korean actors and actresses, including Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won, IU, Bae Doo Na, and Lee Joo Young

'Broker's entry at this year's 'Cannes Film Festival' will mark Koreeda Hirokazu's 8th appearance at the renowned film festival, approximately 4 years after his 2018 film 'Shoplifters' was selected for the Palme d'Or.

In addition, actor Song Kang Ho will be making his 7th appearance at 'Cannes' with 'Broker' this year, the greatest number of 'Cannes' appearances by any South Korean film star. In the past, Song Kang Ho starred in the 2019 film 'Parasite', also selected for the Palme d'Or at 'Cannes'.

Fellow co-star Kang Dong Won will be making his second appearance as 'Cannes' with 'Broker' following his 2020 entry with 'Peninsula', while singer/actress IU will be making her 'Cannes Film Festival' debut with the project.

Meanwhile, the '2022 Cannes Film Festival' will take place this year from May 17-28.

Kore-eda is one of the best directors to come out of Japan ever. I expect this to do very well and am looking forward to watching it.
