"Leave her alone," Korean netizens say people need to stop targeting Free Zia as she has been punished enough

AKP STAFF

Recently, there have been a handful of Korean netizens who are expressing that YouTuber Free Zia (Song Ji Ah from 'Single's Inferno') is being too severely criticized for what she had done.

In a popular online community, one netizen raised their voice against all the people who have been criticizing the YouTuber after the fake luxury item controversy. The netizen explained, "I'm someone who hasn't been criticizing her or shielding her from the beginning but I think she's being overly criticized compared to what she did wrong. She's being more heavily criticized than that guy who killed his own ex-girlfriend."

The netizen who created the post continued to say, "I think people cursed her enough in various social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and more. How much more can she handle this when she was just an ordinary person and became famous from YouTube. Then all of a sudden she started getting malicious comments from thousands of people overnight. I think she received enough punishment."

There are many netizens who agree with the creator of the post. These netizens say that Free Zia seems to be being witch-hunted and is receiving too many criticisms. Other netizens added, "I think I would be so sad hearing my name being made fun of being called Lying Zia and Fake Zia. Now, everyone will know the seriousness of wearing fake items. So now let's stop," "What she did was wrong but is it something that she has to be this heavily criticized? I feel like she's making more headlines than the guy who killed his girlfriend," and "It's ridiculous how she's getting more attention than murderers."

Other netizens also gathered to another post to express how baffled they were to see how much Free Zia received backlash from her latest fake item controversy. These netizens also claimed that Song Ji Ah is receiving more criticism than she deserves. Netizens commented, "How does she receive more criticisms than the celebrities who were caught drinking and driving, or gambling? All the entertainment news media outlets were filled with articles about her," "Of course, it's wrong that she wore fake items but the media needs to change. They're like ready to kill a person," "She admitted she did wrong and posted an apology video, so stop criticizing her now," and "I feel bad because she did seem to really care about her subscribers and she seemed sincere when she said she feels sad that her fans might think that her feelings for them were fake. She looked really sad and sincere when she said her feelings for her fans were true."
