'Hangout With Yoo' apologizes for using art without artist's consent + giving wrong credit

AKP STAFF

'Hangout With Yoo' apologized for using art without the artist's permission.

On the 13th, artist Yoon Sun Young accused 'Hangout With Yoo' for using her art without consent, and even giving the wrong credit as Ruli Web when the art was only uploaded on her Instagram and her blog 'Yoon Employee'. The artist said that even if the staff found it on Ruli Web, they had the duty to figure out who the original artist was.

The staff of the show apologized, saying, "We did not accurately portray the art featured on episode 84. We became aware of the problem right after the broadcast and we are trying to get in contact with the artist. We will be apologizing as soon as we reach her, and work out the copyright details."

Crediting an artist for their artwork is the basic courtesy especially if it is for commercial use.

It would have taken them only a few minutes to credit the artist instead of the blogger.

Well the production apologized and reached out to the artist so it is all sorted out.

If you wanna use art for free there are stock samples available for that sort of thing. But going online and just taking art you like the look of and using it without even crediting it is art theft, and not cool.
