BTS has done it again. Their most recent full-length project, Map of the Soul: 7 debutes atop the American albums chart, the Billboard 200.
The album burst to the number one spot of the chart moving a total of 422,000 units, of which 347,000 were pure sales. This not only gives BTS the highest debut on the chart in 2020, it also gives the group their highest debut to date. Furthermore, it's the highest debut for a group in four years. It's BTS fourth album to top the chart after Love Yourself Tear, Answer, and Map of the Soul: Persona. Future, The Beatles and The Monkees are the only acts to achieve for number one albums faster. It's also the 10th mostly non-English album to top the chart.
Map of the Soul: 7 is BTS' best-charting album worldwide. It debuted at number one in Australia, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
