BTS has most votes to be guest stars on new season of "SNL"

Can the audience meet the top idol group BTS (RM, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga, V, Jungkook) in the next season of the program "SNL" (US)?

On August 5 (US time), Billboard posted an article titled "Who Should Be a Musical Guest on Next Season of 'SNL'? Vote!" and mentioned such names as BTS, Taylor Swift, Chance The Rapper.

"SNL" is a popular weekend comedy show broadcast live on NBC (US). This is the most famous and long-standing program in the US where international stars will join and perform on the stage or take the leading role of the show as well as show comedy acting and political satire.

"SNL" wrapped up its 44th season in May. BTS has attracted a lot of attention from both local and home fans when choosing "SNL" season 44 as their first schedule for the American comeback stage with the new album "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA". The group appeared on program "SNL" on April 13, the day after the album was released.

At that time, after BTS's participation in "SNL" was confirmed, the exciting image of Hollywood renowned actress Emma Stone - who attended the show that day as an MC - not knowing how to do when being able to stand between BTS attracted attention via the preview video. At the same time, a rare scene happened when BTS fans in the US camped on the road a few days earlier to see the group closer.

Billboard also guessed, "With such an exceptional group of performers, we can't help but think about the upcoming season 45 and all the musical goodness it can potentially bring. Should BTS come back for an encore? Or what about Chance the Rapper, who just had three songs from The Big Day debut on the Billboard Hot 100? Taylor Swift or Lana Del Rey are both great options too, since they're both releasing long-awaited albums later this month."

Regarding this, according to the prospective guest rankings for "SNL"'s next season calculated in real-time through the poll created by Billboard, BTS is taking No.1 position with the overwhelming voting rate of 80% when receiving a total of 3,164 votes by August 6 (KST).

Following BTS is Taylor Swift with the voting rate of 11%. NCT 127 - the group that has recently expanded its activities in the US - also won 3% of the votes.
