Some time after news reports of his upcoming marriage, former A-JAX member Dowoo stepped forward to confirm the news to be true!

Dowoo, also formerly known as Hyeongkon before a name change, will be tying the knot with a former model girlfriend 2 years older this May 11. The couple plan on holding a private wedding ceremony with family and friends present. 

The former idol star also opened up about his girlfriend, how the marriage plans came to be, and more! Regarding how the marriage plans came to be, Dowoo revealed, "We are getting married as planned now that my contract with my former company has expired. We had originally planned to get married once the contract came to an end. I wanted to announce it slowly via SNS, but the news reports were faster than me and I was very surprised." 

Dowoo met his girlfriend "while promoting in Japan, she was studying as an exchange student there. My girlfriend is 2 years older than me and did some modeling work during her stay in Japan."

Furthermore, Dowoo shared, "My girlfriend studied abroad in Japan for about 10 years. In truth. I ended up learning Japanese from her while we dated. It was very helpful for my Japanese promotions. My girlfriend is 2 years older than me, and we dated for a long time so we naturally came to think about marriage. It's definitely not due to premarital pregnancy." 

Meanwhile, Dowoo currently plans on switching gears over to being a YouTuber, after news of A-JAX's disbandment in March of this year. Congratulations to the couple on their upcoming marriage!
