MOLE Entertainment releases statement on CoCoSoRi

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor cocosori

On the 11th of December, CoCoSoRi's company MOLE Entertainment released their official statement on the issue regarding CoCoSoRi.

The company’s position on Coco’s conduct

This is M.O.L.Entertainment, CoCoSoRi’s management company.

During the past few months, Coco has posted several statements about our company as well as about Sori on social media, which do not reflect the truth. In these statements, which she has expressed through live-streamed video and also through several written comments posted on her social media account, Coco has tried to pass her own problems as if they were problems with the company and Sori. With regards to these statements, we ask CoCoSoRi fans not to worry. In addition, in order to release Coco’s 2nd single, we started a Kickstarter crowd funding project in which Coco got backing from her fans. After releasing her single, the fans who backed her were supposed to get some rewards for participating in her crowd funding project, but there is still one reward pledge which Coco was supposed to fulfill personally, which to this day she still has not done.
Last week, media articles portrayed Coco as a victim which brought more misunderstandings. Furthermore, there were some fans who just accepted Coco’s claims, which gave rise to a serious situation because they began sending unpleasant and aggressive messages to Sori’s personal social media accounts. Since our silence has been perceived as the company being at fault, we have no choice but to disclose our position publicly.
We are currently preparing a legal response towards Coco. As a matter of principle, we believe that the parties involved should work to resolve the issue. We ask you to understand that it can be dangerous to listen to, and to believe in only one side of a story without having all the information.
We are very sorry that these problems have occurred, and we deeply apologize to those who have supported CoCoSoRi.

I would personally like to make an apology as well, since I wrote the article last week on the CoCoSoRi issue on here. I never intended to make Coco look like the victim or take a biased stance in any way, shape or form. The only reason the previous article focused on Coco's side so much, is because she has been very vocal about the whole situation. It's very easy to find a post from her or a stream in which she discusses this. Whereas the stance of Sori and the company had not been as publicy announced and is only really known to the fans who have followed them for some time.

I would like to say one thing. Everything I posted in the previous article, is based on what has actually been said. Whether what was said or not is true, is not something anyone besides the company, Sori and Coco know. I have seen many people saying the last article was false and not based on facts, and then bringing in arguments that I did mention. This and people taking the stance of Coco being the victim from my article made me realise I need to be a lot more careful with how I word my texts and how I present it and I will do my best to improve.

Once I again, my apologies.

What if CoCo is telling the truth and the company is just trying to cover itself? She did share a lot of details that I think would be hard to fake or get mixed up. This is also, as a company, not the right action to take. You don't publicly state you are going to sue your talent. You handle it internally and put out a release saying just that. You don't point fingers and throw your own talent under the bus. To me, this makes me feel like she was telling the truth. They weren't taking care of her and they are continuing to do so.

I don't think the author is at fault. They just wrote according to the info that was available. It did make Coco seem like a victim, but that's because that's how Coco painted the situation.

What a deeply unprofessional statement from the company. Sure Coco said stuff she shouldn’t have but it should have been dealt with internally first, not for the company to attack their own artist. It makes them look even worse. Coco shouldn’t have dragged Sori into it. Honestly, I see so many of these SK companies try and drag their own artists down unprofessionally.

I don't think it is unprofessional. Coco started the rumours first and people are hating on the company and Sori based on what Coco said. So the companies response is simply stating what is happening and not hiding it from the public. And if what Coco is saying is the truth she should also file a lawsuit. It was super unprofessional that Coco revealed this on a twitch live stream and not discuss what she was unhappy about with her company.

It's a deterrent otherwise it may become a precedent for other disgruntled artists within the company to air their dirty laundry out in the public. I see both parties at err here, maybe Coco should've handled the issue more deftly (plus it may have the unintended consequence of other companies shunning her as it may also happen to them if they sign her up unless she's thoroughly done with being an idol) and maybe her company less reactionary with their response.

It's not unprofessional. Coco made a public statement first so her company made a public statement back. She brought this on herself. Coco's true colors are coming out.

They made a public statement bashing her. She’s still their artists/employee. The issue should’ve been resolved internally

The author shouldn't have had to apologize, the article may have came off bias but that was because she only had one side to look. Usually, it very common for a company to put effort into one idol more than the other when on idol has more following or attention. So it was easy for fan to believe Coco's allegations. However, out of respect Coco should've brought her qualms to her company and Sori. She claims that Sori could've just told her she want to try a solo, out of respect she didn't have to lie. However, out of respect she should've told her feelings to Sori personally. It's not like it was impossible for her to think fans would go after Sori. I'm sure she couldn't have predicted the amount of hate that would get directed to Sori but she should've have been more mindful with her words. She was complaining about unfair treatment towards her but because of he lack of filtering Sori got unfair treatment from the public. I understand there is obviously a difference in treatment but she said herself her and Sori had the same opportunities. However, she unfornately , did make it on t.v for The Unit. while, Sori did well in mix nine and got exposure, it kinda of hard not to understand why the company pushed Sori. She also talked about the concept Sori's solo was and how her company knew she'd never go for that, them you can't really expect the company not to push more for the concept that will bring in more money. Which, will ended up benefiting her budget for the next cocosori or coco solo. Coco seems to have a specific image and sound which she won't deviate from and know what image she doesn't want to take and that is fine. However, her company is large enough for her to say she won't do concepts and stages that the company thinks will bring in money. It is better for her to go independent, rather than staying in her company.

Why are you making the article hard to find so people can't read it? Coco could be telling the truth. Just present the information and get your own feelings out of it. If you can't, don't continue to post anything.

The problem for me is that the article had a lot of unintended consequences. People turned my article into Youtube videos, quoted it on different forums, published it on different news sites and it ended up getting so much attention that it even led to hate directed at one of the members.

I might re-publish it, but not before I made some changes to make it clear to people it's only one side of the story. With the way it was, people were very quick to jump to conclusions.

But that was not your fault. You did nothing wrong. If people took it differently than that's on them; You can't control them. If you feel you need to add a disclaimer, that okay, but I don't think you should delete Coco's side of the story because that needs to be known as well.

I thought of that as well. I wasn't going to let Coco's side of the story disappear. I was just trying to figure out whether to put a summary in this article or modify the old article. I ended up deciding for the last one, since it's the way she told the story herself.

And you were right about having to put feelings aside. I just wasn't expecting so many people to pay attention. Or that it would lead to hate directed at one member and MOLE releasing a statement with a jab in my direction. It was kinda overwhelming.

Guess I'm an experience wiser now.

I like Coco but I think she shouldn’t have said what she said to the public. If she has a complaint, she needs to talk to her company or leave when her contract is up

I'm dissapointed in Coco. She complained so much about the company not funding her single, yet she forgets this is her SECOND single. Her first single her company paid for everything. How could she complain about her company using their money on Sori's first single, when technically they did the same for her on her first single. Not to mention that they crowd funded for Sori's first single, the company just added to it. I don't remember any crowd funding for Coco's first single, the company paid it fully. She's being unfair and pretending to be the victim. She got 2 singles out before Sori even had her first, and yet she still complains. She got eliminated on the first round of the Unit, her audition didn't even make it to broadcast. Sori made it to the final line up of mix9. I used to love Coco, but she's showed her true colors. She seemed so nice and sweet on her YouTube channel, guess she's just a snake.

There's literally 0 proof that any of what Coco said is true, meanwhile there's factual evidence that things in her story don't add up and are completely untrue, and some of you are still defending her?

Tbh , i heard bad things about CoCo's personality about being immature and petty during her past ten years of attempting to be an idol to which she has failed miserably since her skills are pretty mediocre for someone with this level of experience. But i thought it was just the past and she was more mature now. Sori isn't mind-blowing talent-wise either but she's clearly more polished and earned some popularity through her efforts in Mixnine which it should be noted that Coco couldn't pass the audition rounds for the Unit. After seeing how Coco undermined her partner through petty Instagram posts and more recently the live stream. I've come to lose any respect I've had for her. i really enjoyed her YouTube channel and thought it was so unique for an idol to vlog their life like she was. But she really is a jealous-minded and unprofessional. She knows her words would get Sori into shit but she has no lid or any concern for her at all. She's clearly jealous of her own partner who's struggling to make a career at 30 just like herself. Sori has made very little amounts of success only to have it interrupted by her envious partner tearing her down. Its shameful Coco that you truly havent changed. You really are as overdramatic as they said you were. You guys just need to do a quick google search of CoCo Lee exposed and you'll find the information about her before her Cocosori days. You guys obviously know that companies are gonna invest more on their more lucrative members and both coco and sori were given opportunities to prove themselves. Sori was successful so the company spent a little more on her. Big whop! its the entertainment industry ..thats just how it is

it looks like its the end of CocoSori as a duo and maybe of Coco and her contract to MOLE. I find its sad it has to end that way, but i guess eventually MOLE decided to support the more popular one of the 2, since Sori is able to speak fluent Japanese, and its more ideal to support her, as she has more fans in Japan as well, and can release her song "Touch" in Korean and Japanese as well, compared to Coco. its probably more cost effective to promote 1 person than 2 person.

I don’t think the writer made her look like a victim, it just is what it is. The agency put more money into Sori because at the time Sori was more popular. She made it to the final girls team in MIX NINE and also was promoting with Real Girls Project so people knew her more. CoCo got to release solo songs they just didn’t do well and neither did Sori’s Lol, so it shouldn’t be a huge deal

Sad to see Coco try and bring Sori down. Kind of glad the company is taking action seeing as Coco cannot behave professionally and talk it out with her company if she was having internal issues or thought she was being treated unfairly. Instead she chose to vent online and she chose to bring the company and Sori down. That says a lot about what kind of person she must be like to work with.

I hope they don’t actually take legal action against her but she threw her company and her only group mate under the bus. That’s going to affect her as well in the long run. I hope the company goes easy on her and this gets resolved

Even if Coco is supposedly a victim, then what is she victim of? Being less popular than Sori, who has done very well for herself on two audition based competition shows, of course she becomes a focus for the company. She is the one with potential to actually bring in money, by actually having a fanbase.

Everything she's complaining about is pretty much a given.

Who? I just checked out her twitch stream and it's a typical westernized asian. She sounds trashy, as expected being american. She is ugly too both looks- and demeanor wise. A company must have been desperate.

I’m curious what the condition was that Coco didn’t complete. I found it fishy since they wanted to tell everything else that they left the condition out. Remember guys, the fans who funded the kickstarter are the real losers in this situation sadly.

Wowowow this girl has HPD holy shit. What an Attention seeker. I know a few people who know her personally but I never cared to ask so I don't know anything about her really. Also I'm glad for the Apology, don't be too hard on yourself. Yes always be careful with your words, especially if you're a writer and especially when you're posting an article for thousands to see, but shit happens so it's okay. I'm glad they are taking legal actions against CoCo, she deserves it.

just remember this is just another side of the story, its not like the company is going to come out and say yes we're bias towards this artist and are hindering the other one. They aren't going to claim to be doing anything malicious in an open statement, CoCo may well be telling the complete truth but only time will tell.
