The East Light

The father of The East Light's Lee Suk Chul and Lee Seung Hyun spoke up on his sons' trauma.

Former The East Light leader Lee Suk Chul gave his full testimony on the abuse all the band members suffered, and on the October 23rd episode of 'Access Showbiz Tonight', his father spoke to reporters. Mr. Lee expressed, "I haven't been able to sleep in 4 days. I feel like my insides are turning out. Seung Hyun still wakes up asking for someone to save him in his sleep."

He continued, "My heart hurts thinking about the pain they endured locked up in a room." Mr. Lee also added his sons still had to take medicine to fall asleep, and his younger son Lee Seung Hyun is still undergoing therapy for his trauma.

This must be awful for their parents. A lot of parents don't want their kids to get into music industry (I don't know about this family) and then when something like this happens it must affect them even more. I can't wait for that monstrous man to be behind the bars.

I can't imagine what this man is going through, knowing you can't exactly do something to stop the pain of your own son :(

I'm glad that these boys have supportive parents. I hope with therapy and their help, one day these boys will be able to continue their music career or just go back living a normal, fulfilling life. I hope the rest of the members are also getting the help they need

Why have the abusers not been arrested? They should be in jail. Beating someone with a bat, choking them with cords, telling them you're going to murder them is assault. You wouldn't get away with doing that to a stranger on the street so why haven't the assailants been arrested?

It's child abuse - these boys are underage except for maybe one (now!).

For the boys, they were scared. For their parents, their hearts hurt. It's traumatic.

I'm curious how will this case end. The agency already admitted the charges but in legal terms it's not finished. And the other thing I'm really curious is the deal with the other 4 members' parents.

There's a good chance we'll never see this band on stage ever again because of their trauma. Abuse is never something that just happens, its a choice a person makes to hurt another person either through physical or mental means, in this scenario its both and towards children. Their parents were probably already worried about them debuting at such a young age and hearing this they might think they made the wrong choice of allowing their child to become a star. I hope their company shuts down for doing this to them. They had such bright futures ahead of them as a band and now it's all crashed and burned. If they ever return to the stage, whether it's through being by themselves or being a band again, I hope they smile because they're truly happy and not because they're being forced to smile.

Lee Suk Chul did the right thing as a leader in making it public.

Its a mistake from the very beggining to want to become a singer even though your talent is minimum...their vocalist is not explosive, they dont stand out among other idols...whatever this newbie agency is thingking, their idea is a flop...they are disperate to raise money, the group is desperate to get attention...

The only silver lining from this situation is that this abuse is finally being brought to light. I'm fairly certain the East Light isn't the only case of abuse of kpop stars and trainees.

The full story needs to be told so the public can DEMAND a full investigation and COMPLETE PUNISHMENT.

From CDAN:

"It is interesting that the members of [The East Light] were willing to talk about being beaten, but none were willing to talk about two of the members that were violently r@ped by male record label bosses. The r@pes were so horrific that the members had to be hospitalized for almost a month."

This article is the first thing I've seen about this situation with TheEastLight. In fact, this is only like the third time I've even heard of TheEastLight. So lemme get this straight first... So Lee SukChul's son is a member of TheEast Light. That son has been abused by the entertainment company he's under. Lee SukChul doesn't want his son to be in the entertainment industry. And these abusers haven't been charged yet. Are the abusers the company TheEastLight is under? (Please correct me if anything is wrong! I'm just so confused~)

Lee Suk Chul is the leader of The East Light, he is the oldest, born in Jan 2000. The assault/abuse happened in 2015-2017 which means all member were minor. Lee Seunghyun also member of band who is Sukchul's little brother. Member who get abuse often were Seunghyun and Sukchul.

Anyway CEO firstly denied accusation and denied he also did verbal abuse. Company/CEO release several statements, but he is surely know that company's producer did physical and verbal abuse to them. It's getting big because Seunghyun complaint to CEO after company hire the producer back to the company, but CEO told Seunghyun to leave the band.

There is the pretty much trans of Sukchul with his lawyer press conference before they filed legal suit.

This thread may get you understand.
