JYP Entertainment sees over 30% increase in Q2 operating profit compared to the same period last year

JYP Entertainment saw an increase in operating profit in the second quarter of 2018. 

According to DART on August 14, the 2018 Q2 sales for JYP Entertainment recorded 31.6 billion KRW (28 million USD). This is a 10.6% increase YoY from the company's Q2 in 2017. 

2018's Q2 net profit of 23.5 billion KRW (25.3 million USD) is also a 7.2% increase over Q2 of 2017. As for operating profit, JYP Entertainment recorded 9.06 billion KRW (8 million USD) which is a 30.8% increase YoY from the second quarter of 2017 which recorded 6.9 billion KRW (6.1 million USD).


The continuous success of JYP groups including TWICE, GOT7, and more have played a vital role in the increase. On August 14, JYP Entertainment shares closed at 23,750 KRW ($21), an increase of 3% for the day.
