Highlight's Doojoon has written a heartwarming letter to fans after the news of his pending military enlistment.

Around Us Entertainment confirmed Doojoon would be enlisting for his military service on August 24, and the label delivered the following letter from the Highlight member:

"Hello, this is Doojoon.

You were caught offguard, right? I was surprised too, but not as much as you all. In order to finally fulfill my military duty at this late age, I'll have to suddenly leave. I wanted to go earlier, so I'm happy because I can finally release some of that pressure.

The sad part that's troubling me is that I'll have to leave without giving you all a proper goodbye. My heart hurts a lot. 

Thanks to Light, I was able to enjoy my life as a celebrity for almost 10 years. In this atypical life, the fact that I was able to feel normal feelings like happiness, sadness, and others is thanks to the special memories I was able to make with you all. You were with me for a third of my life, and all this time you were cheering me on. Thank you sincerely for your support. I was an honor.

Now, I plan to start the third chapter of my life. To my members, family, friends, company family, and drama staff members who supported me, I'm so sorry and thankful. I hope you all stay healthy.
