On April 6, Seulong's agency SidusHQannounced that the singer/actor has been re-assigned to reservist status due to the worsening of his rib disorder symptoms. Accusations on special treatment arose, as netizens believe Seulong was transferred for an "easier" time with the mandatory service.
In response to the issue, a rep of the Republic of Korea Army stated to Xports News, "It was carried out through the proper procedures. There was no special treatment whatsoever."
Despite the statement by the Republic of Korea Army, netizens are firing criticism, stating, "How was he able to promote like that if he had the health issues even before his debut?", "He can make six pack abs but his ribs hurt", "He didn't seem ill when he was dancing on stage", "All the celebrities are suddenly so sick when they go to the military."
Recently, Lee Joonwas involved in a similar controversy after transferring his post as an active duty soldierto reservist status for his persistent panic disorder.
